APA provides education and organizes events to promote safety and build skills to recreate more confidently on land and water.

Everyone is immediately welcome at our local and national gatherings thanks to our wildly welcoming community. Enthusiasts of all levels find inspiration for bolder adventures, and have the opportunity to influence the development of APA.

Packrafting is a growing sport and APA advocates for responsible stewardship of our public lands. APA members are passionate about shaping the future of packrafting and championing responsible recreation.

Our History

APA was founded in 2012 by a group of avid packrafters from across the United States interested in safety, education, conservation, and ensuring that packrafting has a place on America’s public lands.

Our MISSION

The American Packrafting Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting community among packrafters, packrafter safety and education, and opportunities to packraft responsibly on public lands.
